Who better to talk about a journey to Jordan than those who have actually been there? We asked 5 ladies who travelled to Jordan on one of our women-only group trips what their favourite memory from Jordan was, and why they would recommend it to their friends, families, enemies, strangers, etc.
Here’s what they had to say:
1) “WADI MUJIB WAS AN OUT-OF-THE-WORLD PLACE WITH EVERY POSSIBLE ADVENTURE ONE COULD ASK FOR” – Priyale Prasad
This was my favourite memory from the trip, walking against the gushing water of the river, rock-hopping along the way, and all that rock climbing! We tripped and got drenched but I would go back happily again and again! I would definitely recommend this trek as it’s not a regular “touristy” thing. More importantly, it’s a fabulous landscape with adventure written at every turn.
2) “The family lunch that we had was absolutely beautiful” ~ Shoma Bakre
One of our best experiences was the traditional lunch where we met three generations of Jordanian women and realized over a delicious meal that their mothers, sisters, daughters are just like ours and their hospitality is just like ours too!
3) “TRAVELLING WITH A GROUP OF WOMEN I HAD NEVER MET BEFORE WAS INCREDIBLE” ~ Pamela Bubber
I was very apprehensive, but was pleasantly surprised with my group, (aged 24 to 62), because each and everyone had their own fabulous characteristics that created this bunch of fun loving adventurous ladies who pushed me beyond my limits. Everyone should try group travel once in their lives because it is so worth it. I am totally addicted.
4) “THE DEAD SEA WAS JUST SO MUCH FUN!” ~ Anjali Gupta
Going to the Dead Sea had been on my bucket list for a very long time, and getting to float in the saline water, applying a mud pack to my face and posing with the gorgeous lifeguards, all added to the experience.
5) “Petra by night is a beautiful experience. No amount of words will do justice to it” ~ Satleen Bhatnagar
The entire stretch was lit up by innumerable lanterns making the visual absolutely mesmerising as we walked towards one of the wonders of the world. Standing in front of the Treasury in the middle of the night under the stars and moonlight, the stories I heard about Petra, the Nabateans sitting on the ground surrounded by the lanterns – all still linger in my mind.
Beautiful sights, adrenaline rushes, bucket-list items, welcoming locals, tasty food, and best of all, friends with whom you can laugh and let your hair down with, Jordan has it all!
