Bali is one of the most popular travel destinations in Indonesia. And there are good reasons why! From famous Indian Bloggers, we bring you the list of the things that you shouldn’t miss when visiting BALI!
1. SUNRISE TREK TO AN ACTIVE VOLCANO
Be warned! This activity is not for the faint-hearted, but if you want to experience something different, trekking to an active volcano is what you should put on your checklist. A three-hour trek starting at 2:30 in the morning to Mount Batur (Kintamani) is worth every sweat.
Bindhu and Unny talk about their experience while trekking here. They say, “The easy walk soon turned to gradual climb and to steep ascent at some places. The guide was very helpful and gave us short breaks to catch the breath..”

2. DISCOVER BALI’S UNDERWATER LIFE
Bali is famous for its underwater world. There are many diving sites from which you can choose in Bali. Coral reefs attract very rich and impressive fauna. Many diving sites also offer scuba diving in the night to experience the underwater life, under the glow of your dive light.
Laxmi shares her experience of how she felt after diving. “I did take a leap into the deep blue sea and lived to tell the tale. Life under the ocean is more than just a breathtaking kaleidoscope of colours.”

3. WATCH A TRADITIONAL DANCE
The Kecak is a form of Balinese Hindu Dance. It is unusual because there is no song or music, just the sound made by the chanting choir of men. The dance tells the musical tale of Ramayana. The Kecak Fire Dance is one of Bali’s most iconic art performances, famous for its dominant use of human vocals in place of instruments to accompany the dance-drama at its core.
Parnashree shares her experience of the traditional dance. She says that ” The Kecak dance is a spectacular sight to see and gives you a brief look into the island’s heritage and culture.”

5. RELEASE THE SEA TURTLE
A sea turtle center, situated close to Seminyak sea, was designed to protect and increase the turtle population. The sea rangers patrol all night along the beach and collect the eggs for keeping them safe. You’re allowed to release the turtle in the sea after they’ve hatched, taking precautions so as not to hurt them or flash cameras on them. It is one of the activities that you can do, away from all the chaos
” I truly enjoyed this experience as I watched my baby turtle swim with the waves into the horizon. ” ~ Jyotsana

7. KINTAMANI FARM
Kintamani Farm which is located near Mount Batur is where you can visit the local farmers. Bindhu and Unny tell us about how many tourists are misled by the drivers to pay money and view someone’s farm.
Bindhu and Unny share their experiences about visiting a farm where they found the most expensive coffee, “Civet coffee (kopi Luwak)”. They also appreciated the hospitality of the women working there.
” The Satria farm is a cooperative setup of farmers and the proceeds from the sale goes back to the farmers. So we thought, this is an interesting business model, where farmers get their due without suffering at the hands of middlemen.” ~ Bindhu & Unny
