I couldn’t recommend a guide more highly than Jamal. He was always watching after us and making sure that all our needs were met. He went above and beyond his duties many times. Above all he has a wonderful sense of humor, warmth and a great deal of knowledge. He made our holiday and because of him I would book with On the Go Tours again! ”

We had such a magical and awesome time travelling through Egypt. The organisation of the tour was exceptional. Highlights for us was definitely the felucca boat trip, swimming with the wild dolphins in The Red Sea, riding on camels through the desert with the Great pyramids of Giza in the background!! Memories and experiences that will forever stay with us! Our tour guide Medo was amazing! Best tour guide ever... he was always there for us and his knowledge and wisdom about the ancient Egyptian culture and mythology is on another level... such a passionate individual and caring about our ever need. ”

All 3 staff [driver, cook and guide] were great, friendly, and the food was wonderful. Tents and mattresses were of a good standard. The staff who ran the Serengeti excursion were also very professional. Some of the campsites were a little basic; with poorly maintained facilities - for example broken toilet seats and non-flushing toilets were unpleasant. But they all had a bar area for child drinks, which was good.We didn't appreciate beforehand the number of very early starts that would be required; perhaps this should be made more clear on trip notes.”

Thank you to Sarah for arranging this tour for us via your China agents. This is the first tailor made tour you have provided to Taiwan and was an experiment on both sides. Whilst the tour itinerary was not easy to understand and Lion Travel Service in Taipei City were unable to provide it in a more usual format for UK clients, the actual tour worked very well. We were picked up on time at the University Campus in Taoyuan and were provided with an exceptionally good tour by a very good english speaking guide. The only down side was the first hotel which was poor. We gave feedback to the company as it lets down their excellent reputation and we suggested that they don't use this hotel again. We were told by our hosts at Taoyuan University that Lion Travel is the biggest travel company in Taiwan and has a very good reputation there. We particularly enjoyed the National Centre for Traditional Arts near Yilan and the fish spa. We were unable to make use of the hot springs at the hotel as it was so dirty and the hotel was so poor. The following day the highlight was the drive to Hualien on a spectacular coast road, and the visit to Tarago Gorge Park where the gorge sides are all marble, as are the 'rocks' in the river bed below. Superb! We had a little time spare on the final day so had some time at the Royal Palace Museum in Taipei - an absolute 'must' for any visitors to Taiwan. It is fabulous and really needs several hours just to scratch the surface. 20% of China's best treasures are housed here and whilst China would like them back, Taiwan is not giving them up. The last hotel at the airport is very new and is excellent. Highly recommended company, guide, and tour. Thank you Sarah for arranging it.”

Why book On The Go Tours

Great fellow travellers and group size:

On The Go’s groups have an international mix of English-speaking travellers (singles, couples, and groups of friends) aged mid-20s to 70 years of age. The average group size ranges from 15-24 people, perfect for fostering camaraderie and fun.

Lots of flexibility and free time

On The Go’s trips build in flexibility in their set itineraries to give travellers time to arrive a day early or stay back an extra day, and during the tour, to enjoy free time to head off on their own adventures.

Expert local guides

Expert local tour leaders and guides organise all day-to-day activities, hotel check-ins and will give you lots of useful local pointers and tips too.

Comfortable travel

On The Go knows that adventures can be better when the day ends with a cold beer by the pool or a soft pillow to lay down on. The company is known for their attitude of “adventure in style”, and go the extra mile to source comfortable hotels and boutique properties where travellers can stay while on tour.

Faqs

You could be 25 or 65, a solo adventure or a couple, travelling with friends or family members across the generations. You could be coming from Australia or America, Canada or Cambodia. However, there’s one thing that unites the group travellers and that's a thirst for adventure and a keen interest in learning about new cultures.

During the trip, you’ll spend your days enjoying lots of authentic cultural experiences, with time added in so that you have an hour or two to unwind and/or explore on your own. In some destinations, there might be a day or two at leisure for you to enjoy the place as you wish. It'll always be somewhere with lots on offer, whether that's a beach location providing sun, sea and sand, or a scenic spot where outdoor activities abound.

It depends on the tour but generally speaking group sizes average 16-18 passengers. The time of year affects traveller numbers so if you prefer a smaller group size then consider low season travel. Special festival departures run with larger group numbers due to the one-off nature of the events, although, these may be split into two separate groups to ensure numbers are manageable.

The minimum age on standard group tours is 18 years (or 16 years if accompanied by an adult) and there is no upper age limit. Anyone over the age of 65 will need to complete a Tour Suitability Form to determine if your chosen tour is right for you. There’s also a range of family holidays available for those travelling with children.

Pre and post tour accommodation is offered on all trips so you can spend more time in the start and end destinations. There is also a range of short stays available that can be combined with group tours for a more tailored holiday experience.

For the majority of tours, there is a non-compulsory single supplement, which means you’ll be paired with another solo traveller of the same sex so you don't have to pay any supplements. There are also a number of tours with departures on which you can have your own room at no extra cost.

Trips are organised on a twin share basis with the option to book a single room for sole use. If you are travelling as a couple or pair of friends/family, you have the choice of a twin room (two single beds in one room) or a double room (one big bed in the room). If you are a solo traveller and happy to share then you will be paired up with another solo traveller of the same sex in a twin room. Alternatively, you can pay the single supplement and have a single room to yourself. Depending on the destination a single room could have a single bed or a double bed for sole occupancy.
