Itinerary

A Welcome Feast

Touchdown Cairo!

You will be greeted at Cairo International Airport in the arrival hall by a local representative who will welcome you to Egypt. Then, sit back and take in the view of the capital as you’re driven in a private air-conditioned coach to your hotel. Check-in and unwind.

In the evening: celebrate the beginning of an unforgettable holiday with your new crew at a welcome banquet.

   Meals:   Lunch, Dinner

Great Pyramids, Sphinx + the Egyptian Museum

Today is that special once-in-a-lifetime experience you’ve been daydreaming about for years.

After tucking into the breakfast buffet at the hotel (8:00 AM), head out with your local guide to see  two wonders of the Ancient World that have drawn visitors for millennia: the enigmatic Sphinx, and the iconic Great Pyramids.

At the Pyramid of Cheops, you can climb inside and upwards to the King’s Chamber. Please note: this is a challenging climb (so make sure you’re wearing sneakers) but it’s worth it - how many people do you know who can claim they have climbed into an Egyptian pyramid?

Alternatively, you can choose to go on a camel ride and have some fun riding with a view of the pyramids!

Next, we’ll stop by a papyrus institute to see how this unique paper is made, as well as perfume shops.

Lunch: will be served at Felfela restaurant.

Next: we’ll visit the Egyptian Museum. Here you will see huge sarcophaguses made entirely of gold, statues and priceless treasures including the Golden Mask of Tutankhamen. You will also be able to enter the Mummies Room that contains mummies of kings and other royal family members.

In the evening: enjoy sipping on Egyptian tea at a local cafe.

After time to shop in Khan el-Khalili, we’ll wind up the day with dinner at a local restaurant.

   Meals:   Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Temple Of Philae & Felucca Ride + Nile Adventure  Begins

Get ready for an early start to the day. After a packed breakfast, you will be driven to the Cairo domestic airport for your flight to Aswan (flight duration 1.5 hours).

It's time to explore Aswan. We'll first visit the temple of Philae and the high dam here.

In the afternoon:  board the Nile cruiser, your home for the next couple of days. Settle into your room, enjoying the view of the riverbanks from the full-length windows in your room.

Later: climb into a felucca, a graceful long wooden sailing boat, cruise around Elephantine island, see the beautiful Botanical Garden, and then The Mausoleum of Aga Khan.

You’ll then be free to unwind in your cabins before we meet again for dinner.

   Meals:   Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Abu Simbel + Kom Ombo

This morning, get ready for an exciting day!

We’ll tuck into a breakfast box along the way, and with an Egyptologist as our guide, we will explore the awe-inspiring Abu Simbel. Our drive will take around 3.30 hours, so catch up on some sleep on the way.

When we arrive, you’ll see why Abu Simbel is said to rival the Pyramids for grandeur. To put the sheer size in perspective for you - the thousands of travellers who take selfies in front of the Ramses II statues barely reach the top of the statues’ great toes. It’s an incredible sight.

We'll then be transferred back to Aswan and the cruise. Afterwards, we will sail to Kom Ombo to visit an unusual double temple dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek as well as the falcon god Horus. Don't miss the mummified crocodiles (yep, really)!

   Meals:   Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Sail, sail, sail down the Nile

This morning, we will head out to visit a temple dedicated to the god Horus. We’ll then lunch on board the cruiser, and spend the rest of the day sailing, first to Esna and then on to Luxor where we will dock for the night. Recommended: head out for a night on the town! Luxor offers a wide range of entertaining events, from disco to belly dancing, costume festivals to karaoke shows.

   Meals:   Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Valley of the Kings, Karnak+Luxor temples

Optional Activity: Hot Air Balloon Ride Over Luxor (approx. INR 12,000 per person)

Early in the morning, climb into the basket and slowly rise into the sky as the sun peeps over the horizon. Then, enjoy the thrilling birds-eye view as the sun illuminates famous ancient temples and mountains on one side and the glittering Nile on the other. After your thrilling ride, you will be driven back to the cruiser for breakfast. (Please note that this activity is dependent on suitable weather conditions).

You’ll then see the two Colossi of Memnon, massive statues (60 ft) that have stood the test of time for the last 3400 years.

Later, visit the temple of the Queen Hatshepsut (the only woman to rule as Pharaoh) and then the Valley of the Kings where the who’s who of Ancient Egypt have been buried. You’ll also visit the Karnak Temple, one of the greatest temple complexes in Egypt.

In the evening: explore Luxor by horse carriage and afterwards, walk through the famous Luxor Souk.
