Day Wise Itinerary

Welcome To Egypt

Touchdown Cairo!

You will be greeted at Cairo International Airport by a local representative who will welcome you to Egypt. Then, sit back and take in the view of the capital as you’re driven in a private air-conditioned coach to your hotel. Check-in and unwind.

In the evening: attend Giza’s famous Light and Sound Show (18:30 PM). Watch as the immense pyramids are illuminated by colourful beams of light as you hear and see the story of Egypt unfold. (Note: it may get a little chilly in the evening, so don’t forget to take a warm jacket or wrap-around with you.)

Great Pyramids, Sphinx + Souvenir Shopping

Today is that special once-in-a-lifetime experience you’ve been daydreaming about for years.

After tucking into the breakfast buffet at the hotel, head out with your local guide to see  two wonders of the Ancient World that have drawn visitors for millennia: the enigmatic Sphinx, and the iconic Great Pyramids. We’ll first visit the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus, and then head to a spot that gives a beautiful panoramic view of all three pyramids.

We recommend enjoying a short camel ride, with the Pyramids in the background (at an additional cost)!

Then: the Sphinx, a testament to the mighty Egyptian dynasty, swept away by the sands of time. Afterwards, we’ll visit the Valley Temple (that is believed to have been used for the Mummification process) and then go onwards to the Step Pyramid of Sakkara, the central highlight in a necropolis, built for the Pharaoh Djoser.

Later: it’s shopping time. Explore the different stalls for interesting souvenirs and trinkets to bring back home.

Cairo 101

Today, embrace the vibrant culture of Cairo as we set out to explore the best of the capital city.

First: the Egyptian Museum. Here, you will see huge sarcophaguses made entirely of gold, statues and priceless treasures including the Golden Mask of King Tutankhamen himself! You will also be able to enter the Mummies Room that contains mummies of kings and other royal family members.

Then: we’ll explore the iconic Citadel of Salah El-Dein. Built by the great ruler Saladin himself, you can’t help but feel like you’re back in the crusaders’ era, staring at one of the greatest medieval fortresses in the world. We’ll then head to Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali. Looking at the elaborate and beautiful alabaster decorations on the inside, you’ll appreciate why the mosque is named so.

Later: we’ll head to Coptic Cairo, a section of Old Cairo filled with Coptic Churches, including the Hanging Church and Abu Serga Church (which we’ll visit). We’ll then visit the Ben Ezra  Synagogue - legend has it that this is where baby Moses was found.

In the evening: we end this day with shopping and bargaining at Khan el-Khalili! Wander and walk like an Egyptian amongst hundreds of little shops where you can purchase jewellery, fake papyrus paintings, small marble statues of Bastet and other little treasures.

Petra By Night Experience

After breakfast, we’ll check out and catch a flight to Amman. Upon arrival, you’ll be met by a local representative who will assist you with immigration and then drive you to your hotel.

Then, we drive to Petra (UNESCO World Heritage Site),  one of the 7 world wonders and Jordan’s most famous attraction, described often as the “rose-red city half as old as time." Upon arrival, check into your hotel room and relax.

In the evening: see Petra by night, a truly magical experience. Walk through the Siq, following a candle lit path in silence (talking and phones are banned), until you reach the colossal facade of the Khazneh, bathed in the light of thousands of little candles. Trust us, this is an experience that will burn bright in your mind, and linger for a lifetime.

*Petra by night operates only on Monday/Wednesday & Thursday so the itinerary will be changed accordingly.

Mazayen Rum Camp or similar

After breakfast at the hotel, which may include fatayer jebneh (cheese pastries) and a cup of fresh mint tea, it’s time to head out and explore Petra, Indiana Jones style!

Enter the city through a kilometre long narrow gorge (just like in the movies), flanked on either side by 80m high cliffs! You’ll see the dazzling colors and formations of the rocks. Wander about this ancient city carved out of the solid rock of a pink mountain and discover elaborate rock-hewn Nabatean tombs and the Roman streets dotted with temples, staircases, buildings and other monuments cut with a refinement that's hard to believe. How were they created? Ask your guide for details.

Then: we drive to Wadi Rum!

“Vast, echoing and God-like” are the words Lawrence of Arabia used to describe Wadi Rum, and as we head out on a 2 hour jeep safari into the dramatic desert wilderness, you’ll see why.

Few places have the power to astonish you quite like Wadi Rum, where the Mars-like landscape, huge sandstone mountains and glittering red sands conspire to render you speechless.

Float On The Dead Sea

After breakfast, we’ll check out from the hotel and proceed to the OH Beach Resort in Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth.

Known for being a destination for relaxation and medical therapy, the sea’s natural mud is believed to be filled with beneficial nutrients, so be sure to smother some on. The best part? You don’t even have to try to float! Wash the mud off by floating in the gently lapping waters of the Dead Sea.

Later: we’ll head back to Amman, where you can check into your hotel room and unwind for the day.

Downtown Amman + Explore Jerash

After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll set out on a city tour of Amman, including a stop by the Roman amphitheater which has 6000 seats. Then, we will hit the streets and immerse ourselves in the sounds, sights, smells and sensations of the chaotic and vibrant marketplace of Downtown Amman; it truly is a one of a kind experience.

Then, we’ll visit Jerash, the biggest and most completely well-preserved city of the ancient Roman Empire. Explore its colonnaded streets dotted with half-fallen columns, majestic arches, temples, theatres, plazas and the 2000-year-old hippodrome; a well-preserved reminder of the grandeur of those times.

In the evening: you’ll be free to explore Amman. Perhaps some retail therapy and souvenir shopping for your friends and family?

Road To Jerusalem + Climb Mount of Olives

Today, we’ll be driving from Jordan to Israel, across the Allenby border. Just a few hours after breakfast, you will find yourself in a country that is the spiritual cradle of three of the world’s major religions – Islam, Judaism and Christianity; here, the roots of faith can be found intertwined in narrow streets and tiny towns.

(Note: after the visa formalities, departure taxes of USD 15 + visa fees of approx. USD 25  per person need to be paid locally, plus shuttle bus of USD 10/person on spot and luggage will be charged at USD 3/piece).

We’ll head to the Mount Of Olives, where, according to the Bible, Jesus ascended to heaven. From here, you can get a sweeping panoramic view of the entire Old City.

Then: visit the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus was arrested (its gnarled olive trees are over 1,000 years old) as well as the famous Church of All Nations, which is said to contain a section of the bedrock where Jesus last prayed before his arrest.

In the evening: we’ll check into our hotel rooms and relax.

Jerusalem 101

Today, we’ll set out to explore the holy city of Jerusalem.

First: we’ll walk with pilgrims along the Via Dolorosa (Stations of the Cross), the path taken by Jesus, all the way to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, site of Jesus’s crucifixion. This route will take us through the Old City’s oriental bazaar.

Then: we’ll head to Mount Zion, an ancient hill of great religious and historical significance.

We’ll visit the Church of the Dormition, the place where Virgin Mary fell asleep. Then, we’ll head to Cenacle (a.k.a the “Upper Room”), the very site where The Last Supper took place. Afterwards, continue to Church of Saint Peter Gallicantu, which contains statues and artwork symbolizing Peter’s denial of Jesus.

In the evening: you’ll be free to explore and shop at the city.

Explore Jaffa and Tel Aviv

After breakfast, we’ll first visit Jaffa, a beautiful 8000-year-old port city filled with arched alleys, golden stone buildings and streets marked strangely with Zodiac signs. Here, we’ll visit the Artists’ quarter, exhibiting beautiful galleries and home to many of Jaffa’s artists.

Then: we’ll head to Tel Aviv, the most happening city in Israel!

First: a trip back in time. Visit the historic train station complex, where the former Ottoman Station and other buildings have been transformed into shops, restaurants and cafés. It’s truly a beautiful experience.

We’ll then walk through the neighborhood of Neve Tzedek, which was the first area settled by a Jewish community outside Jaffa.

Afterwards: a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We’ll walk through the Rothschild Boulevard, Also known as the 'White City’, it is at the heart of the city. We’ll then visit  the Hall of Independence, where former Israeli prime minister Ben Gurion declared the state of Israel in May 1948. From there, we’ll drive to see Rabin Square, where Yitzhak Rabin (the former Prime Minister), was assassinated.

Later: we’ll drive back to Jerusalem.

Time To Head Home

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end! You’ll be transferred to the Tel Aviv Airport to catch your flight back home.
