Day Wise Itinerary

Welcome to Finland!

Welcome to Helsinki!
Our local representative will welcome you at the airport and then drive you to the hotel. Check-in and take a little nap or go for a walk around the city.

In the evening, we’ll head out to a local restaurant for our welcome dinner! Enjoy your first taste of Finnish cuisine, get to know your new travel crew, and toast to the adventure ahead!

To Tallinn and Back

After breakfast, you will leave for Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. It lies across the Gulf of Finland from Helsinki and is just a short ferry ride away.

Explore Tallinn on a Hop On-Hop Off bus. The capital is the perfect blend of the old and the new. This UNESCO listed old town has no end of medieval charms, with beautiful squares, elegant buildings and ancient churches that you can explore with an English-speaking guide. Indeed, just walking along the cobblestone streets here is an experience. Head to the top of Tallinn tower. Tied to a harness, you can walk around the edge of the tower to get a panoramic view of the city. And don’t forget to shop for fine leather-bound books - a speciality.

In the evening, you’ll catch the ferry back to the Helsinki port, and then be transferred to the hotel.

Hello Helsinki!

It’s time to take in Helsinki’s iconic sights and highlights on a half day tour.

After breakfast, we’ll start out with a private guide by our side. On our route: the Helsinki Cathedral -  a picture-perfect white church - which is, no doubt, the most photographed building in Finland; the  incredible Sibelius monument made of 600 steel pipes of differing heights to symbolise a sound wave; and the Kamppi Chapel also known as the “Chapel of Silence” and is designed to have a calming effect.

Then, shop at the colourful market square where you can buy anything from cinnamon cookies to reindeer skin gloves.

In the evening (Optional Tour): Suomenlinna (UNESCO World Heritage Site). This 18th century fortress has a lot of cultural treasures, including Finland’s only remaining WWII era submarine!

Journey To The Lapland

Enjoy a leisurely morning in your hotel. Put your feet up and rest awhile, this afternoon, we'll begin our Arctic adventure.

In the afternoon: catch a train to Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland! Check into your hotel and unwind.

Snowmobiling + Santa Claus + Hunt For The Northern Lights

It’s time for thrilling wintery adventure as you go snowmobiling through the silvery forests and bash up some snow-dunes. (Please note, a valid driving license is required, but children and adults without driving license can also join the safari sitting on a sledge.)

First, listen carefully to a briefing from the guide on riding a snowmobile. Then, climb aboard, and you’re off! Ride through the wilderness, past trees dusted in snow and glittering frozen lakes. Along the way, our guide will start up a campfire, and we’ll sit around to warm our palms, and eat some fried sausages.

In the evening: In the evening, your childhood dream comes true. Meet  Santa Claus, visit his famous Post Office and enjoy the magic of Santa’s village.

Then: it’s time to chase the Aurora Borealis. Keep your eyes peeled to the skies as you set out into the snowy landscape, and stay warm with a hot drink and sausages sizzled on a campfire. If luck is on your side, you’ll be treated to the sight of immense, luminescent green ribbons as they dance and shimmer overhead. It’s truly spectacular.

Please note, although Finland is one of the best places on Earth to spot the Northern Lights, viewing conditions are dependent on the weather and not guaranteed.

Reindeer Farms, Forest Trails And Sled Rides

Another day, another Arctic adventure! Today, visit reindeer farms and learning about the life and culture of reindeer herders (plus, interesting reindeer herding stories).

You’ll get to click photos of the reindeers, feed them their favourite snacks and enjoy a short
reindeer sledge ride through beautiful forest trails!

Then, relax for the rest of the day, or better yet, pamper yourself with a traditional Finnish sauna available at the hotel.

Husky Ride In The Woods + Northern Lights Chase

You’ll be driven to a husky farm where you will meet an incredibly adorable pack of dogs, who, though cute, are powerful beasts are capable of pulling a two-man sled with speed and stamina. After instructions on managing the sleds, and the excited dogs, you’re off! In an exhilarating instant, you’re zooming through a white forest, the dogs running ahead, the sled gliding over the snow.

After the adventurous ride, enjoy a hot beverage with the musher, and thank the huskies for the wonderful ride before you head back to the hotel.

In the evening: celebrate exciting adventures, new experiences and friends with a farewell dinner.

Later: we’ll top it off with another Northern Lights hunt.  Because what better way to end this journey than a chance to see this beautiful natural spectacle!

Time to head home

Sadly, it’s your last morning in the Arctic.  After breakfast, you will be transferred to Rovaniemi airport from where you will take flight(s) back home.
