Welcome Dinner In Baku

Welcome to Azerbaijan!

Enjoy the view of the capital city and the beautiful Caspian Sea as you land.

You’ll be met by our local representative and then transferred to your hotel room.  Check in and unwind.

In the evening: time for a welcome dinner ! Enjoy your first taste of Azerbaijani cuisine at a local restaurant. Tonight's festive atmosphere is perfect for getting to know your new travel mates and tour leader better.

Then: see Baku at night, when the city dazzles with colourful lights! Enjoy the sea breeze as we pass the beautiful Baku boulevard.

Get to know Baku!

The many sights of Baku will charm you through and through as you set off to sightseeing in the afternoon.

Start with a photo stop at the Heydar Aliyev museum (known for its ultra modern and quirky design), visit the Ateshgyah temple and then head to see the iconic Flame Towers (don’t forget to snap some photos)! 

We’ll then have lunch at the old town. 

In the afternoon: the beautiful Shirvanshah’s Palace (once the house of ancient rulers) and the Maiden Tower (UNESCO World Heritage Site), a monument known for its fascinating legends and mysteries. 

One of them is a fascinating tale of a fiery-haired maiden, who saved Baku's people from siege and slavery by defeating the invading general single-handedly.

Of Local Food and Souvenir Shopping

This morning ,  head to Shamakhi to visit the Juma mosque (1st mosque to be built in the Caucasus).

Then: shopping time! The old streets are a perfect place to buy souvenirs for your loved ones back home.

Later: onwards to Lahij (5th century B.C. village), where you’ll have lunch with a local family.
Here, learn how to cook the national dish (Qutab) and some delicious yoghurt!
Overnight in Sheki.

Trade Routes & Palaces

After breakfast, set out to explore Sheki, including the lavish Sheki Khan Palace, once a  summer retreat for the Sheki Khans.

Then: the “Karavan Serai’ in Sheki, once famous inns constructed in the Middle Ages, for craftsmen, traders and merchants who used the Great Silk Route.

Afterwards: time to buy souvenirs and sweets! Post lunch, visit the village of Kish. Here, you can see  the Church of Saint Elishe, the first church to ever have been built in the Caucasus. 
Overnight in Sheki.

Hello, Georgia!

After an early breakfast, cross the border (Georgia-Azerbaijan) and reach Georgia. Enter through Lagodekhi, a pretty town hugged by mountains and between rivers. 

First: Sighnaghi ('city of love'), a Royal town with an interesting defensive structure - 23 towers, each of which is named after neighbouring villages and their families. Lunch: enjoy authentic homemade food with a local family.
Later: the 9th Century Monastery of St. Nino at Bodbe. End the day with wine tasting at Duruji Marani valley, where we’ll get sample 4 types of Georgian wine!

Overnight in Sighnaghi.

Tbilisi 101

Enjoy an expert-guided tour of Tbilisi. 

The places that we’ll visit include: Narikala fortress for a breathtaking panorama of the city, the Thameni Holy Trinity cathedral, the glass bridge, the old town and its historic structures (including the Clock Tower). 

We’ll scoop in some time to visit Tbilisi’s famous sulfur baths , the natural hot springs that gave the capital (‘warm place’) its name.

In the evening: enjoy dinner at a local restaurant with a Georgian folk show.

Getting to know Georgia

After breakfast, head to the 3000 year-old town of Uplistsikhe, having more than a 100 halls, temples, theatres, pharmacies, prisons and streets - all carved out of stone with primitive tools!

Then: city of Gori. Visit the incredible Joseph Stalin Museum. Afterwards, visit Mtskheta – the ancient capital of Georgian kings (UNESCO World Heritage Site) followed by the Svetitskhoveli Church (UNESCO World Heritage Site)

We'll end our day shopping here and enjoying some free time.  Then, head back to Tbilisi.

Time To Head Home

Our trip comes to a blissful end on our eighth day and we transfer to the airport. Have a safe journey!

A vast majority of our scheduled trips are suitable for people above 18 years old only. However, we do welcome young adults and children on our private group trips.

We believe the early-bird catches the best travel worm :) The early-bird discounts are valid for the first few spots on the group and are not time sensitive. Your travel designer will let you know about the number of spots available.

We have a secure payment gateway that supports payment through credit and debit cards, net-banking and Internet wallets. The payment gateway also supports payment through EMIs. If you are not comfortable with paying online, please let your travel designer know and they'll help you out with alternatives.
