Touchdown Batumi.

Enjoy the view of Georgia’s second largest city and the brilliant blue Black Sea as you land. Our local representative will be waiting to greet you at the airport, and then will chauffeur you to your hotel.

After you check-in, you’ll have some time to settle in, relax and take a small nap if you wish.

Around 8:00 PM, our group will gather for a welcome dinner and a show! Enjoy your first taste of Georgian cuisine as you’re serenaded by traditional music and songs. Tonight's festive atmosphere is perfect for getting to know your new travel mates and tour leader better.

Head back to the hotel afterwards for some restful sleep.
Fill up on breakfast as there’s plenty to look forward to today!

Around 10:00 AM, climb into an Argo Cable Car and head out to explore this beautiful city. A local guide will be on hand to point out architectural monuments on the streets of Old Batumi, but you’ll be equally charmed by local life: old men playing chess, vine-covered houses, and photogenic family cafes. Plus, you’ll get to see Batumi from a birds-eye view as the car climbs high above the city.

Next up: the Batumi Botanical Garden running over 110 hectares along the Black Sea’s shore, packed with more than 5000 species of rare, strange and exotic plants from South and North America, Asia and even Australia. There are olive trees, cypresses, pine and bamboo trees, while blush-pink roses and white camelias bust in bloom around every corner.

Afterwards, free time to do as you please. Here’s what we suggest:

Adjara historical tour: on this 4 hour tour, venture down to the Georgian-Turkish border for insight into the rich cultural heritage of the region. Visit the Ethnographic Museum in Sarpi, the Gonio-Apsaross fortress, as well as an area where the Apostle Matthew preached. (This is an optional activity at an additional price of INR 2,000.00/person plus GST).

Wine-gastronomic tour in the Adjarian Mountains: learn the history of winemaking in Adjara and wine tasting in a beautiful setting, followed by a visit to a waterfall in Mahuntseti. We’ll wind up with a Georgian feast, where you’ll be able to wear national costumes and learn more about folk traditions. (This is an optional activity at an additional cost, please ask us for details).
After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll head out around 10:00 AM on an excursion to the Machakhela Gorge. This wilderness of dense forest greens and cliffs pierced by waterfalls that plunge into deep valleys is one of Georgia’s most beautiful regions. We’ll spend the day following a route alongside the gorge, discovering its charms.

On our route: the 6-7th century Gvara fortress, the bridge of Queen Tamara, and the Ethnographic Museum that showcases the region’s heritage and way of life. The museum was previously a 300 year old wooden mosque, and inside you’ll see intricate hand-cut woodwork that is unlike anything in other parts of the world.

Then, a highlight: tasting wine and honey made in the mountains. Georgia is called ‘the cradle of wine’ and as you taste, you’ll also learn how Georgians have made wine in traditional beeswax-lined clay jars buried underground for over 8000 years. It’s different and distinctive.

Lunch: with the locals! Enjoy homemade national Adjarian dishes while you chat with your hosts.

We’ll head back to Batumi for the night. Dinner is on your own. Recommended: try ‘Khachapuri’, local thick bread filled with cheese, eggs and slabs of butter, or ‘lobio tkemali’, kidney beans with plum sauce.
It’s straight to Imereti today. According to Greek legend, this is the land of the Golden Fleece, the hero Jason & the Argonauts quested for - and there is definitely something mythic about this region, with its big karst caves and dinosaur footprints (yes, you read that right).
After an Imeretian lunch, we’ll explore the city of Kutaisi with a local guide.
First stop: the gorgeous Bagrati Cathedral,  a graceful teal-topped building and UNESCO World Heritage Site that overlooks the city. Next: the Parliament of Georgia, ornamental Colchis fountain, Rustaveli Avenue (where you’ll find the city's main attractions and shopping areas), Queen Tamara Street, and the Opera House.
We’ll spend the night in Kutaisi. Recommended: head out with the girls for dinner and perhaps some ‘Chacha’, Georgian grape vodka.
Fill up on breakfast, as today’s going be quite a day!
Exploring Uplistsikhe (meaning ‘The Fortress of God’) feels a little like taking a step back in time. This 3000 year-old cave town has more than a 100 halls, temples, theatres, pharmacies, prisons and streets all carved out of stone with primitive tools, and even had up to 20,000 people living in it, it’s incredible.
After lunch (around 2:00 PM) in Gori city, we’ll drive to Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, a tangle  of ancient and modern, glassy buildings and quiet churches, and the most friendliest locals you’ll meet.
You’re free for the rest of the evening, so explore on your own and have dinner. Recommended: if you haven’t tried ‘khinkhalis’ (hat-shaped dumplings) as yet, hasten to rectify this. You’ll have several different fillings – potato with cheese, mushrooms, beef-pork mince – to choose from. All will be delicious.
Get ready to spend the day exploring the most famous wine region of Georgia. Imagine an area of looming mountain ranges, medieval churches, beautiful rose gardens, vineyards and you’ve got Kakheti.
Here, we’ll visit sites loaded with history such as the monastery of Bodbe, where the relics of St. Nino, the patroness of Georgia rest (legend says that if you make a wish here, it will come true), the medieval monastery of Nekresi, and the Fortress Gremi (once a residence of Kakhetian rulers).
Then: onwards to the Alazani Valley and Signagi, a lovely old town which is known as the ‘City of Love’ (the Wedding House is open 7 days a week and 24 hours a day).
We’ll top off the day with an epic Georgian feast made by a Kakhetian family. Devour an endless array of national dishes – this could include skewers of tender grilled meat and vegetables, khachapuri stuffed with cheese, roasted aubergine, Imeretin cheese, salads,  pickled jonjoli, and, of course, plenty of wine! Expect lots of toasts and songs to accompany your meal.
Full from our feast, we’ll head back in Tbilisi this evening.
A great way to start the day would be to take a dip in the city’s famous Sulfur Baths of Abanotubani, frequented by poets, writers, musicians and kings over the years. The waters, containing natural therapeutic minerals, are said to have healing qualities, but either ways, you’ll emerge feeling relaxed, refreshed and rejuvenated. (This is an optional activity at an additional cost. Ask us for details!)

Then, this morning, set off on an auto-walking tour of Tbilisi, strolling its streets and learning more about the city with every step. You’ll also get to see the city from intriguing points of view such as a ride over the Kura and a secret passageway to a waterfall in the city center.
Then, visit iconic sights and local highlights, including Old Tbilisi with its courtyards and famous wooden balconies, the Bridge of Peace, Liberty Square (the heart of the city), beautiful cathedrals and mosques, as well as the Rezo Gabriadze Marionette Theater and a vintage shopping arcade, amongst other sites.

Plus, it’s not a proper day in Georgia if there’s no wine involved, so we’ll go tasting in a wine cellar too.

Afterwards: visit Mtskheta, that will take you to the heart of Georgian civilization. Here, you’ll see several large, ancient sites that intrigue everyone who comes across them, including the Jvari Monastery, the medieval Shio-Mgvime monastery and the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, the temple of the "life-giving pillar".

Around 8:00 PM, it’s time for a farewell dinner and a show at a local restaurant, where you’ll also enjoy national dances and music. We’ll toast to adventures, wine, and new friends.
Sadly, it’s your last day in Georgia. Depending on when your flight is, you’ll be chauffeured to the airport to catch your flight home, making a mental note to return as soon as you can. Have a safe flight!
