Tour of the city’s most important sites

Settle into a boutique hotel in the colonial center of Cusco for the night before rising for a tour of the Inca ruins, some of the oldest in Peru. After exploring the ruines and surrounding countryside, take a tour of the city’s most important sites, including the Cathedral and Koricancha, and some free time in town. We’ll then head to our home for the week in the quaint village of Andahuaylillas, set in
a valley surrounded by the Andes Mountains.

Settle into a boutique hotel in the colonial center of Cusco for the night before rising for a tour of the Inca ruins, some of the oldest in Peru. After exploring the ruines and surrounding countryside, take a tour of the city’s most important sites, including the Cathedral and Koricancha, and some free time in town. We’ll then head to our home for the week in the quaint village of Andahuaylillas, set in 
a valley surrounded by the Andes Mountains.

Introduction to the local community

Today is your first introduction to the local community and children in Andahuaylillas. Get to know children between the ages of 7-12 as you work with them on a variety of lessons including basic English, math, and arts and crafts. In the afternoon, learn the secrets of Peruvian cuisine with a traditional cooking class.

Meet a mystic shaman

Meet a mystic shaman who will explain ancient Incan spiritual rituals, making offerings to Mother Earth, or Pachamama. After a homemade lunch, continue teaching basic English through engaging educational games at the community’s after-school program.

Try your hand at doll-making with the women in the nearby gardens and jewlery making with a professional silversmith.

Visit the homes of the women of the Q’ewar Project to learn more about life in this rural region. In the afternoon and evening, continue working with the children in the community and enjoy a last dinner with the students you’ve come to know at the hacienda. Rise early and journey to the gorgeous Rio Urumbamba Valley, known to most as the Sacred Valley. This beautiful area dotted
with colonial towns, weaving villages, and condors flying above. Experience a full guided tour of the Sacred Valley and explore its markets and Inca citadels of Pisac and Ollantaytambo.

Machu Picchu

Rattle through the Andes on a train to reach the famous mountaintop ruins of Machu Picchu, where we will spend  the afternoon reflecting on the astonishing archaeological  masterpiece. Return to Cusco later in the afternoon  before departing the next day or continuing to the optional Rainbow Mountain Extension.

If you’ve changed your mind about a trip you’ve already registered for, all you need to do is call/email the representative who you’ve been in touch with. Cancellation fees are applicable and are based on the period of notice. All products have their own cancellation and refund policies, although we will always try our best to ensure we get you the maximum refund possible.
