1) The Secret Life of Walter Mitty – 2013

Walter Mitty, a negative assets manager at Life magazine, has exceptional imaginations, perceived by others as him daydreaming. As Life magazine goes online, Walter’s last resort is to find the last negatives to be used for the magazine’s final print issue. For that, he embarks on an adventure journey to various destinations, including Greenland, Iceland, and even the Himalayas, to meet a photojournalist.

2) Mamma Mia! – 2008

Based on the 1999 musical Mamma Mia, the 2008 film of the same name makes you want to visit Greece. The humour and drama-filled scenes of the movie showcase stunning beaches, glittering sea, rocky shores, and whitewashed villages.

3) Wild – 2014

Cheryl Strayed, driven to the edge by her self-destructive behaviour, dissolution of her marriage, and the loss of her beloved mother, decides to hike the Pacific Crest Trail alone to put her life back together and save herself from falling into the abyss.  

She has no outdoor experience and just a heavy backpack and a strong will. This movie is a must-watch for solo adventure trip lovers.

4) One Week – 2008

Diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer, Ben Tyler, a young elementary school English teacher, chooses to do a cross-country trek across Canada on a vintage motorcycle. He asks his wife to join him on his trip but she refuses. He ultimately sets out for the trip.

Long road trips, scenic horseback rides, and adventure in the woods, the scenes of this movie will surely inspire you for an adventure trip.

5) Into the Wild – 2007

The 2007 American biographical survival film is about Christopher McCandless, who rejects his conventional life and sets out on a cross-country drive after graduating with high honours. McCandless experiences different adventures as he sets out for Alaska.     

This movie is an inspiration for those whole love hitchhiking, cross-country tours, kayaking, and mountain treks.
