5 Best Breakfast & Brunch Places In Goa

Being hung-over in Goa is as likely as the sunrise. It is going to happen. Nursing that hangover isn’t an easy task and sometimes you wish there was a place around the corner where you could just relax and have a potentially lifesaving breakfast. Don’t panic; we’ve made you a list of places for the perfect breakfast/brunch to help destroy your hangover.

Lila Cafe, Arpora: Breakfast at Lila’s Cafe is truly scrumptious. Set by the serene Baga creek, this German-run thatched roof cafe with its white curtains and bamboo chairs has the perfect ambience for a lazy hung-over meal. Experience some of the finest European dishes for breakfast here. They have a wide variety of fresh breads to choose from, to go with a side of cottage cheese. There are croissants, omelets, baguettes, sour dough bread, pumpernickel bread and so much more. You could also try beef steak with mashed potatoes. We recommend the fresh smoked kingfish with salad, goulash spaetzle, and beef roast with red wine sauce. And to wash it all down, they have a variety of delicious milkshakes, juices, coffee and tea.

Aunty Maria, Hotel Fidalgo, Panjim: Aunty Maria is the only coffee shop in Panjim that is open 24×7. It is located in the heart of Panjim at the Hotel Fidalgo. It’s comfortable, laid back atmosphere is a perfect antidote for a hangover. Aunty Maria offers a special breakfast menu that includes croissants, waffles, muffins, pastries, brioches, pancakes, fresh juices, and much more. We especially love the variety of omelets they prepare. You could try a chocolate chip pancake with maple syrup or bacon and eggs with potatoes, toast and a fresh salad. Their sandwiches also come highly recommended.

Kenny’s Breakfast Place, Calangute: If you’re looking for an all-day breakfast place, head to Kenny’s. Located on the Candolim Road in Calangute, this place is very easily accessible. Kenny is a lovely host and serves a mouth-watering English breakfast spread. If you’re up really early after a night of binge partying head here; it’s open from 8:30 am. The pork sausages, pork rind, and masala omelet come highly recommended. This is also one of the very few places that serves a vegan menu. The grape and orange juices are particularly delectable.

Bean Me Up, Anjuna: Bean Me Up is an ambient garden restaurant that serves only vegan and vegetarian food, using the freshest ingredients and homemade tofu. Situated in Anjuna under a lush canopy, this restaurant is a perfect retreat from the blazing sun. Its menu is gluten-free and does not use milk. It includes tofu, tempeh and seitan dishes, fresh organic salads, homemade pasta, ravioli, lasagna and wood fire oven pizzas. The “Zenergy” smoothies are to die for. The Caribbean Curl with papaya, pineapple, coconut milk, and nutmeg aids digestion and keeps acidity and heartburn away. The delicious ‘Yogi breakfast’ that includes a chocolate chia porridge or homemade muesli, tea and orange juice, should go on your must-taste list.

Infantaria, Calangute: Infantaria, located next to the Sao Joâo Batista church on the Calangute-Baga road, does not pay too much attention to ambience but makes up for it with its well-crafted menu. This Italian restaurant is always well stocked with homemade cakes, croissants, pastries, and authentic Italian and Goan specialties. The prawn pattice is a must have at Infantaria. It has a delicate prawn stuffing hidden inside a perfectly crispy baked puff. The mushroom and spinach quiche is an excellent choice for vegetarians. You also get bacon cheese omelets, pancakes, brownies, and baked beans and toast. They regularly have deals on beer to go with your food. Might kill the intention of a hangover breakfast, but no one’s making rules for you in Goa!
