Music’s golden couple soaked up the sun while sailing through the beautiful Dalmatian islands on a holiday in 2009. Jumping into the blue waters, she gushed: “This is amazing. Look at this beautiful nature that God created, that I am about to jump into right now with my friend that I love and my husband…”
Blue Ivy, born in January, was reportedly named after a tree wrapped in blue ivy the couple had seen on the island during their visit.

One of Croatia’s frequent celebrity visitors is billionaire Bill Gates, whose favorite spot in the country is the little town of Skradin and the Krka National Park, studded with cascading waterfalls, green valleys, caves, rich vegetation, and wildlife, a patchwork of different blues, greens – and utterly beautiful.
“It is my favorite vacation place” he said, in an interview with Forbes magazine.

The younger of the two princes visited this Croatian island during a summer holiday, where he spent his nights partying and dancing away with friends well into the morning at one of the island’s open-air clubs.

The Gariful Restaurant in Hvar is frequented by many Hollywood A-listers for its fresh fish and shellfish dishes, such as ‘Drunk Lobster’ cooked in tomato and white wine sauce, and served over spaghetti amongst others.
It’s no surprise then, that Giorgio Armani recently named Gariful as one of his top restaurants in the world.

The Mission Impossible star first visited Croatia in 2004, stopping by Dubrovnik and was so delighted that he promised to return.
And he did so in 2012, choosing to visit Hvar in the wake of his divorce from Katie Holmes and spent some time exploring the island and talking with locals.

If you didn’t already know, a large part of HBO’s hit series was filmed in various locations in Croatia. King’s Landing, for instance was shot in Dubrovnik and scenes in Meereen was filmed in Split, for instance.
All the cast members fell in love with the country as you can see in the video, with Emilia Clarke stating “Croatia always treats us so well” in the video, and Iain Glen stating elsewhere, “Croatia has become kind of our home away from home.”
